6th Grade ART
Starting in 6th Grade, students at Park View get to have art class everyday for one quarter of the year. Its a wonderful way to immerse students in long term and more involved artworks. In 6th Grade, students will participate in both 2D and 3D artwork. They begin using clay to create pinch pots as well as coil and slab pieces. We extend our skills in painting and drawing as well. Whenever we can, we also seize the opportunity to engage in cross-curricular projects. 6th Grade Art is fantastic!

3-D Paper Mache Crayons
-In 6th grade, we continue to learn about sculpture and how 3-Dimensional sculptures are those that can be seen from all sides. We then learn how to construct an ARMATURE using poster-board and construction paper. After the armature is built, we mix Elmer's Glue and water together to create paper mache mix. Using many layers of butcher paper, we cover our sculpture in smooth coats of paper dipped in mache mix. After details are added, and a glossy Mod Podge is added, our 3-D Sculpture Crayons are complete.
